I'd argue that the more we know about underlying facts, the better equipped we are to understand the phenomenology of life. That, then, may make for better quality of life. And we can still enjoy golden sunlight and amber waves of grain.
Sounds like mindfulness. Sitting with the discomfiture of reality, what comes from the self? What comes from no self? What is the aggregation where those states meet?

Sometimes the most important work isn’t clarity—it’s friction. Not to obscure meaning, but to disrupt the habits that prevent us from seeking it.
